Lights and Shadows by Gustavo Petro winner of the Historic Pact

On Sunday, Gustavo Petro, the candidate for Gustavo Petro, confirmed the favoritism polls have been showing for a number of weeks. (Positions for candidates to the Historic Pact of Pensions and Inclusiveness).

Former senator of the Republic and former mayor of Bogota managed to win the victory in the Historic Pact coalition. Officially as of now, he's an aspirant to the presidency and hopes to achieve for the third time.

The overwhelming turnout at the consultations made him the most representative representative of the Colombian left. He's also a solid contender for president despite his controversial opinions and views on numerous fronts.

Petro has stated that he plans to make a change to pensions through the establishment of a public manager for pension funds. Petro is also planning to create an arrangement which is "mixed-and-complementary" with private funds. As per the candidate, in Colombia there is no pension system. Instead the system is based on bank profits. Many believe Petro will cut off the chance of him becoming the president. Petro has stated recently that he will not eliminate pensions, but would try to reform the pension system in Colombia in order achieve the minimum amount of pension for Colombians. He has also said there's "no necessity" to raise the age of retirement.

Gustavo Petro Another controversial issue is that he has repeatedly promised that he would end oil extraction the day the day he assumes office as President, a situation that has caused uncertainty among investors and the market as a whole.

The experts estimate that Petro's plans to stop exploration for oil would cost Colombia about $4.3 billion.

This proposal includes the creation an anti-oil force in the region and around the world that moves the economy away from fossil fuels. I would invite Gabriel Boric to Chile and LuizInacio Lula de Silva to join me.

Petro said he was speaking with Pedro Sanchez (the Prime Minister of Spain) about his plan. His attitude towards health concerns is also controversial. He has insistent on ending EPS to replace it with a preventive model which "guarantees all rights of individuals, not the profits of bankers".

He also has questioned the independence of the Banco de la Republica and said he'd implement a change in the event of becoming President.

Petro stated that the Bank Board of Directors belonged to the Democratic Center and "What we would like is an independent Bank of the Republic (...) it seems crucial that the Board of Directors includes the participation of society members," the candidate stated in the middle of the debate. Invamer informs us that Petro is the leader in voting intentions for the presidential elections.

The idea of releasing cash to fund spending by the government was not without controversy.

Petro's plan includes an economic model that doesn't rely on fossil fuels. It also proposes the extraction of hydrocarbons. But, Petro places more emphasis on agriculture.

He also proposes an overhaul of the tax system that would eliminate exemptions, and transforms the idea of minimum wage by real wages that are based on income or capital.
